Donor's Bill of Rights

Your Rights as a Donor

You want to help out the causes close to your heart. But with so many organizations hoping for contributions, how do you choose?

The American Association of Fundraising Counsel, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals developed A Donor’s Bill of Rights to help donors get the information they need to make informed decisions.

What are your rights?

Donor’s Bill of Rights - Your Rights as a Donor

You want to help out the causes close to your heart. But with so many organizations hoping for contributions, how do you choose?

The American Association of Fundraising Counsel, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals developed A Donor’s Bill of Rights to help donors get the information they need to make informed decisions.

Your Rights as a Donor to the LRHCF:

1) To be informed of our mission, of the way we intend to use donated resources and of our capacity to use donations effectively for the purposes you intend.

2) To be informed of those serving on our governing board and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

3) To have access to our most recent financial statements.

4) To be assured your gift will be used for the purposes for which it was given.

5) To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

6) To be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality.

7) To expect that all relationships with our representatives will be professional in nature.

8) To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of our organization or hired solicitors.

9) To have the opportunity for your name to be deleted from any mailing lists that we may intend to share.

10) To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.

We encourage you to contact the Foundation office at (603) 444-9304 or e-mail Gail Clark, Director at gclark@littletonhospital.org for additional information.
