Position Description
Promotes professional practice, collaborative and patient focused approach to care. Responsible for the overall safe, smooth operation of the Post Anesthesia Recovery Central Sterile Reprocessing and the operating rooms, including all aspects of patient care. This includes but not is limited to the day-to-day operations, staff scheduling, budgeting, liaison for salespeople, and liaison between Medical Staff and the Surgical Services staff. Required to assist with surgical procedures when needed. Coordinates nursing activities, reviews/organizes unit workload, assuring that standards of care are met. Participates in utilization review, identifies and follows up regarding performance improvement activities, addresses risk management issues. Recognizes and identify educational opportunities for staff and coordinate this activity. Acts as a role model and mentor to guide staff. Addresses conduct or performance issues.
Qualifications
Education
BSN required or obtained with 2 years. Masters track recommended.
Experience
Five years operating room experience. Three years management or supervisory experience preferred.
License
Licensed as a Registered Nurse. CNOR and ACLS.
